Ideas. Culture. Community.

Conversations worth having

Just Words is a cultural lecture and conversation series built around a simple idea: meaningful conversations can change the way we see ourselves, our communities, and the world around us. We bring together professors, researchers, artists, performers, and community voices to explore the ideas, histories, experiences, and questions shaping Black and POC communities, both domestically and abroad.

Why Care?

Because we all have questions that we’ve never had the space to ask. Feelings we’ve never had the safety to express. Perspectives we’ve wondered whether anyone else would understand.

Just Words creates space for those challenging questions to breathe, and gives you a place to bring your own. Come curious. Leave informed.

One Evening, Three Reasons to Stay

The Lecture.

An idea presented by a lecturer — to be opened up to group discussion.

The Market.

A small, rotating group of local artists and vendors that brighten up the space before the lecture begins.

The community.

The most important part — you and I. A network of culturally-curious individuals seeking to learn more about themselves and the world around them.
